State Orders Shutdowns Again
Yesterday the Director of the California Department of Public Health (“DPH”) ordered the closure of indoor operations in several sectors.
For counties on the State’s monitoring list for three consecutive days due to significant increase in the spread of COVID-19, indoor operations in offices for non-critical infrastructure sectors must cease until further notice.
Critical infrastructure sectors are, in general:
- Healthcare/Public Health
- Emergency Services
- Food and Agriculture
- Energy
- Waste and Wastewater
- Transportation and Logistics
- Communication and Information Technology
- Government Operations and Community-Based Essential Functions
- Critical Manufacturing
- Financial Services
- Chemical and Hazardous Materials
- Defense Industrial Base
- Industrial, Commercial, Residential, and Sheltering Facilities and Services
The affected counties are home to over 80% of the state’s residents. Regionally, affected counties include, at present, Placer, Sacramento, San Joaquin, Stanislaus Sutter, Yolo, and Yuba.
Other closures required in affected counties include gyms, salons, and malls.
Statewide closures of indoor operations are ordered in several sectors, including restaurants, bars, and wineries.
The closures will remain in effect until the Director of DPH makes additional orders.
All other applicable prior orders and agency guidance continue to be in force unless otherwise ordered.
