Don Brodeur’s practice focuses on the representation of clients in the areas of corporate and partnership law, business and tax planning, corporate reorganizations, tax problems of corporations and partnerships, corporate acquisitions, recapitalizations and divisions, estate and gift tax matters, estate planning, and real estate tax matters.
In addition to his active practice, Don is a member of the State Bar of California, and the Sacramento County Bar Association's Tax Section. He is a former Board member of the Sacramento Estate Planning Council. He served as a Senior Adjunct Professor in the Graduate Tax Program at Golden Gate University from 1982 to 2000 where he taught Taxation of Corporations and Shareholders, and Taxation of Corporate Reorganizations. He was named the University's outstanding tax instructor in 1986 and 1990.
Don was named in the Sacramento Business Journal’s 2013 Best of the Bar List, which recognizes top local attorneys who have been nominated by their peers and vetted by a panel of their peers. Don is an AV® Peer Review Rated attorney, the highest rating given by Martindale-Hubbell for legal ability and ethical standards.
Don earned his B.S. from the United States Military Academy in 1971, and his J.D. from the University of the Pacific's McGeorge School of Law in 1976. He received his LL.M. in Taxation from McGeorge School of Law in 1982.
